Verify Compostable Products
There’s now compostable service ware like this. Things that may look like they are plastic, but are actually made out of things like corn.
Shopping for compostable plates, utensils, cups or bags is confusing, as many products use confusing language, i.e. “biodegradable” is not the same as compostable, and something may be compostable but not “certified compostable.”

Look for these on single-use service ware to determine if you can compost it at our site.
Don't Compost This Stuff
When paper plates & coffee cups (think Starbucks) have a shiny gleam, that’s a layer of plastic, meaning it’s a landfill item.
The Composting Process
Businesses place compostable material into a 64-gallon cart we provide. Our service team empties the carts at least once a week and transports it to our facility where it breaks down into nutrient-rich soil before going back into our community to help farmers, landscapers, and gardeners (or back to the business itself) to grow plants & foods without the use of chemicals.
