Here's what to do with your Omaha tree debris from the wind storm
Got hit by this July 31st wind storm? Here’s some options on what to do with all of that tree debris.
Free drop-offs: Here’s plenty around the area. Check our list below. All sites will recycle as mulch.
City of Omaha curbside-pickup: Mayor Stothert said FCC will be by starting Thursday, August 8th, to begin picking up tree debris from the curb. Per Stothert: “Tree limbs do not have to be cut or bundled. Debris should be placed as close to the curb as possible. Paper yard waste bags can be filled with tree debris only and will be collected during the curbside collection in your neighborhood. If you prefer faster collection of yard waste bags, you can purchase the FCC pre-paid stickers, attach the stickers to the yard waste bags, and FCC will pick-up on your regular collection day.” … Presumably, this material will go to the landfill, but please correct us if we are wrong.
Compost Clubbers: Bring it to us at the Soil Dynamics Yard (1725 Avenue G, Omaha, NE 68110). Free for Clubbers. Charges are listed here for non-clubbers: https://www.soil-dynamics.com/drop. Hours are Mon-Fri 8am to 4:30pm and Saturday 8am to noon.
For businesses that have a dumpster with us, we recommend calling a roll-off service. If you need to deposit pieces into our dumpster, they must fit in the container with the lid closed and cannot be longer than 5 feet or thicker than 6 inches. This is super important, as large pieces could break our equipment.
